The Patrón
Aries Sun and Leo Moon
This double fire is capable of laughing at themselves; it’s amusing to them, coming as they do from the ego-like palace in which the Aries-Leo lives. The personality begins as a farce of bravado, machoism, competitiveness, love of the chase, being first, being the best. The experiences these people attract as a result of these aims eventually carves the person out as real and physical. They become what they project, or imagine. After all double fire is the richest in energy and the most likely to perpetuate into the physical what gets born in their upper minds. More unconscious than not, yet difficult experiences and pain were always expected, and slowly, the person learns, and becomes hardened. Aries-Leo attracts people, whomever they want really and even who they didn’t choose, other more sallow types just drawn to their verdancy, hoping it’ll rub off on them. Larger than life, their laughter is real, their anger a testament to the lust of the ego. These people will hurt themselves, dive deep, roar high, and at the end of the day simper down amusedly, for they have great joy in being themselves, and the periods of testing they go through is so as to continuously earn their place among the very great. Their life is deeply spiritual, and because fire burns without prejudice, they know, too, that they will get burned. And what they deserve from their transgressions does not escape them. Magnanimously, they take their punishments as deserved. This combination at the end of the day though they dream big ultimately desires to be as real as possible. Though Aries can sometimes just blow only hot steam, the Leonine Moon makes sure that they develop the guts of really meaning what they say. Whether what they say transpires in the real, or not, though, that is beyond them. What life looks like at the end of the day, or from a distance, or what people with more objective removed intelligence might be able to discern, doesn’t matter. They are always on the wavelength or the cast off shore of desire. An attractive woman, or a man, a glory that can only be imagined, or blue-streaming isles of faraway seas, whatever draws them, they end up experiencing it all. No stone is left unturned. He or she will travel through other people, mediums, and to literal places, always in order to tap into his or herself again and again, as from a bottomless well. Self-discovery is the theme of life, and realization. The Leo Moon may play nice, but it is the kind of Moon that needs and thrives on recognition, on some kind of token at the end of the day, whether it be fame or infamy. Whatever is revealed, whatever is true. That is why the person can laugh, because they imagine one thing yet something else comes, which may be different, but is even more true, and they thank God, for the universe humbles them. The man I knew of this combination was older than me, probably by twelve or so years, a big difference when you’re a nineteen year old girl. But I loved him anyway. He was jaded about the edges and there was nothing hidden in his face, he proclaimed everything, and that really touched me, as I was so hidden and unwilling to be seen. But for him—joy, pain, disgust, it was all candid, it was always drawing from this deep source this person could not, would not hide. He or she is ever seeking to be more transparent, to grow, with time, into his or her God body. He was an artist, not the most technically skilled, but definitely of an era, time, place and sensibility. He had no actual boundaries either, and we didn’t play any kind of games, or we did, but as soon as we were alone, it was always out on the table. He said some of the most real and lasting things to me that I can remember, and when I see pictures of him now dressed head to toe in unbesmirched white, walking the streets of Paris or spreading his arms wide on a yacht, his Venezualan skin deeply browned, I feel that he’s become the King he wanted to be. It’s an ascendance this person is looking for, and everything will be sacrificed to it—friendships, love, regularity, stability. The person builds depth that way and wisdom, through blind exploitation of others and predictable loss. But they’re no fool, and expected loss and sacrifice to begin with, so it layers them. After the hot taste of glory has burnt their tongue many times over, the Aries-Leo will mellow down, like the satiated Lion, or the warrior come home after a long journey, and reflect fondly on all that they gave.
