Cancer Sun and Scorpio Moon

This, one of the most humorous and heartfelt of people I ever encountered or longed for, the Cancer Sun and Scorpio Moon. Strangely enough, as a Scorpio Sun, I’ve found myself a bit wary of Scorpio Moons—only because that which I use consciously they seem at the mercy of in their unconscious. But the Cancer Sun and Scorpio Moon is very, very aware of themselves. Anything that’s unconscious with them they seem to direct with a genius that cannot be disputed. These people feel things very deeply and interpret them in profound form. Full of energy and atmosphere—they bring the storm. A Cancer Sun is usually a very private individual and with a Scorpio Moon, this is of course doubled down. Yet, curiously, with such wells to draw from and manipulate in the shadows of the self, this person becomes truly happy in the presence of those who understand him or her. Then they can really feel and enjoy their heights. It is sometimes, in their own shells, that they lose sense of time, space, or causal parameters. How they feel and think is all encompassing—and when they emerge out of themselves and back to definable spatial contours, they’ll feel such illumination, what tips them off to their power, as well as their isolation, and the cycle begins again of withdrawal and expansion. It’s with devotion and a longing to feel less alone that these people couple by their souls. Even their plateaus feel like sheer cliff-faces. It is staggering the depths and heights through which they go between. Their own light is staggering. It helps to become the beloved of more grounded people for the double-water sign. Of course, like any Scorpio Moon, they know the depths intimately, a shadow realm in which they’ve learned to be quiet-footed and wily, and will never get caught. Secrets that might be protected life-long. But, on a deep deep level, they long to tell. Opening up that realm to sunlight and transparency is part of the painful process and impetus by which they love. As a Cardinal Sign, the Cancer Sun is the type who holds down the family, who represents very visibly, as all Cardinal signs must, the exemplary traits of the leader, in this case, the great mother. The person embodies a strict fairness and sternness so that the young, or the ethos of the vulnerable, is protected and prepared. Sometimes they succeed, but a Scorpio Moon means rolling with losses and temporary gains all the life long, and learning to harness one’s passions throughout. The great mother symbolically both births and buries her young, and this goes for all the symbolic manifestations of what is young—ideas, chapters, illusions, and people. Truthfully, it’s only Cancer-Scorpio men I have known, but the protector role is the same, male or female. Though these people can connect and relate to a great many, their conversation and the penetration of their eyes belies interest only in intimacy. They’re really incapable of small talk. Everything is deep and also very large with them, larger than life. They play with matters and concepts that are of life and death importance and have been shuttle-cocked about with laughing seriousness by the Gods since time immemorial. This person is that powerful, that radiant. They possess the waxing three quarter Moon in which all their endeavors are about to bring in the most glorious fish, a lasting glory. There’s always the sniff of higher ascendance around the corner. But somehow, the person remains grounded, personable, the same. And the Scorpio-Cancer will treat you the same despite what heights they climb. My professor in art school, the only one who connected to me back then, was of this sign, as well as Pop Smoke, the most raw and atmospheric rapper born at the cusp of the twenty-first century.
