Master of the Wheel
Capricorn Sun and Aquarius Moon
This is the combination of my first love. The Capricorn Sun of course is always deeply knowledgeable of the earthly plane and becomes the master of certain mechanical skills. There’s an eating at the core kind of ambitious drive, but the Aquarius Moon helps temper this. The Moon here has left the New position and become a waxing crescent, full of the childlike nascent energy that is always curious about things, and yet also integrates much nostalgia into their forthcoming ideas. There’s a sweetness to those who have the Moon in the sign following their Sun and a real wisdom, too, for the emotional body gently informs the Solar Plexus of goals and states of being always a little beyond what they are conceiving. The Aquarius Moon here definitely cloaks the mind and heart in a protective sphere, and this person becomes truly reachable only to those he or she has decided to completely trust. The personality is never light or flippant but full of deep, brooded over intention that has been brilliantly married to an excellent, sound, and meaningful skillset. There is deep trust in the self that belies incredible inner strength. But the Capricorn Sun is always blighted in some way by its ruler Saturn; there is hypochondria, a moodiness that just comes and goes, and days where the clouds never break. There can be illnesses too, as with any Capricorn. Still the Aquarius Moon, like carrying an eternal twilit sky in yourself, a tapestry for contemplation, provides this person with many outlets for escape and expression. Aquarian motivations are different, almost inexplicable; being the opposite sign of Leo, which rules over the ego, Aquarius when occupied by the Moon expands the desire for manifestation to the realm of astrophysics, where uncanny connectedness, the elusive nature of time, and the expansive nature of the universe is sacred. Their brilliant intuition detects the nearness of a likeminded human who operates on a similar wavelength, always, and they deeply enjoy expanding upon another’s ideas and concepts, and multiplying one another’s blessings. Of course this is an unconventional position for the Moon, and can potentially result in affections being split between different people at once. But as they get older, the Capricorn ethics tend to clamp down—having a family in name and thought becomes important, and they magnanimously slide into an appropriate role. Yet their hearts thrive in periods of being untethered, beyond the assigned roles of this lifetime, when they can be just explorers of this earth, their universe. Whoever their spouse is should understand the depth of mental freedom they sometimes need—though they’re incredible open, and surprisingly penetrable, they are never still, never contained. They listen, and their awake hearts detect subtle callings of myriad symbolic energies, in the shape of geese flying overhead, in deep waters. There’s eternal mystery to them because of this developed attunement. Interestingly, Aquarius used to be ruled by Saturn, the great malefic planet, and was considered the other side of Capricorn’s coin. Whereas Capricorn dreamt of solidity and permanence, materialism and conquest, Aquarius expounded upon these thoughts to consider the next generations, the ethos of building and conservation, and the cyclical rise and fall inherent in all lives. So essentially these two signs are incredibly in sync, and create a mature, brilliant, meaningful light of a human. Achievement remains always paramount, but they value their private lives very much, offering as much loyalty as they are capable. Of course in their psyches they are more free than they would ever admit to their lovers, or lover, but they don’t mention it, they disdain hurting anyone. There’s a sobering lesson in life between the boundless of their thoughts and ideas and the unkindness that seems to be mortality. Still, a part of them, a deeply adult part, sleeping beneath their childlike strength and resilience, does know and packs as much varied experience into their hours as is humanly possible.
