Libra Sun and Virgo Moon

This is the Sun and Moon of my mother as well as an unrequited love of mine. Here’s my low down on this: Libra Suns enjoy immersion so much they become shaped by circumstances and the outer world. Their lust is for influences and their joy is in reflection, participation, and standing out in the collective. Libras are known for being people-pleasing and dressing well, as the stereotype goes, for they absorb their influences and transform them into a kind of individuality. This has to do with a rulership by Venus as well. But the Libra Sun paired with a Virgo Moon, or Moon of Mercury, the constant mind, has an underlying current of deep anxiety. Their love of being in the moment is crossed by Virgo’s tendency to only feel relaxed in an environment of total control where everything is understood. These two signs follow each other in the zodiac, which always represents a stark departure in ethics and a challenge to blend—yet there’s a cohesiveness to the adjacent signs which the Libra-Virgo learns to integrate. Symbolized by the first thrust of autumn, the detachment of leaves, the waning of summer heat, the Libra-Virgo reflects a balance between feeling comfortable in a greater world and touching upon the rhythms of private life, as might be seen in those out and about in October. A Virgo Moon furnishes the Libra Sun with a richer and more solitary private life than many Libras experience. She or he keeps secrets, which may even be unconscious; there’s a love of private ritual that is decidedly Virgo Moon. There’s a perfectionist element to the personality, too, that makes grooming and self-care rather militant. Deep peace is drawn by playing with and organizing all the rich minutiae of life, and she or he will be constant in his or her routines. Virgo however is a mutable sign, indicating that there’s a sixth sense to when shifts are due, and the person graciously adjusts, after an expected implosion of panic. Libra, meanwhile, is the cardinal sign of Air, and represents that dignity with which one chooses relationship, and stands by one’s people. The Virgo Moon locks shrewd intelligence beneath a very observant, people-aware Sun that combs with accuracy all over the body’s psycho-somatic and nervous system processes. These people are proud of their self-responsibility but ironically prone to projections as they feel someone else must be to blame for any mental or emotional instabilities. This might be the Libra’s way of coping with the enormous amount of energy they absorb from others, for Libra can lack boundaries. The Virgo Moon however forces boundaries up from within, and draws the person back into a circle of solitary activity that at worst can become obsessive-compulsive, and at best, can hold down a family of five. The Libra-Virgo do not give their hearts away easily but neither are they the most romantic or emotional of characters. They are deeply loyal however, simply because to share their inner world with someone requires that they trust on a non-negotiable level. The Libra Sun lends the body grace and gentleness, while the Virgo Moon ramps up shrewd awareness from the eyes, and punctures the nervous system with jolting reactiveness. Deep breathing and focused exercise is a saving grace for the person. Working with the earth also helps reset the nervous system as well as research of any kind, because knowledge deepens self-composure and smooths paranoias. They are very dependable in work and feel that the fabric holding society together is their duty to uphold. Collapse of dynasties and the great drama of a shift in government, or the collective consciousness, throws them into a panic, for they have trusted in the process of reflection and integration. This person, however, is an accurate reflector of what’s going on on a familial-collective level. Ultimately their life is about finding peace and enjoyment in the flow. The Virgo Moon must be expert on the small things, and this makes them privy to unconscious secrets of the universe. The Libra-Virgo represents the Dark Moon, the moon waning to nothing, which is struggling to integrate an ancestral line that is dying out. Sometimes the individual born with a Dark Moon represents a cord between two eras, and their life is both an example of the old-old and the new-new. They tend to be more unconscious than not, but also incredibly psychic, if they’d only trust themselves, and believe that everything which dies gets reborn.
