The Sun Shower

Pisces Sun and Pisces Moon

This is the combination of my twin brothers so their particular imprint I absorbed in my childhood. The double Pisces is the Pisces par excellence—the ethos of the sign itself. I found them incapable of deep ego-driven turmoil. There were no jagged edges to the personality. The double Pisces is cool and warm at once—cool in that they provide space both literally and spiritually even when near so that there’s no suffocation being close to them, and warm because their hearts are open, end of story. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac; it is the sign where ego dissipates and the vibration of the greater universe can be heard in its vast incoherency. They are fluid and mirthful, joyful and sorrowful, unattached and wistful. Pisces, though it rules the vast ocean and unconsciousness itself, and the dismantling of the attachments of the personality before ebbing into death, also happens to rule mental and emotional astral travel, the ways one escapes when confined. In the body, these are the wings of the spirit we always possess, but Pisces also rules those places humans happen to contain each other in which create mental disturbances (and the need for wings)—prisons, insane asylums. In the personality itself, the Pisces Sun and Pisces Moon experiences cyclical feelings of trapped embodiment and eerie freedom, beyond time and their current space. They are completely loyal but also incapable of absolutely possessing; they are just deeply pooled into their interests. Their absorption literally creates disassociation in their bodies, and their lives are unpredictable, or some of the most freely and spontaneously lived. The spontaneity is not necessarily evident; the double Pisces could work in a cubicle for fifty years and only by a curious long-held glance or a certain chipped tooth smile will you suddenly get the impression that this person lives on another plane. So it doesn’t so much matter where they are, that’s the secret to the double entendre of this sign—both freedom and containment. As for my brothers, they are able to hold down more densely emotional and tragic people in their lives because of this gift of fluidity. The ashen remnants of old trauma, the worked to death undercutting habits of someone else’s personality, even toxicity, seems to flow through them, get cleansed by the mere presence of their purity, and leave them unscathed. Thus, they can go anywhere and chameleon themselves wherever and with whomever they choose. The double Pisces is a New Moon configuration and so the dark and hopeful passageway of the moon into an invisible manifestation aptly describes them, how they are near and far, how they loom but give space. Lastly, the double Pisces does not know judgement or bitterness; she or he lets it all sieve through them. As a double water sign, which I described elsewhere as being the strongest elemental force of all the signs, they have the power to embody a magnetized and intensified will, one which can manifest intention and transform their atmospheres. If they focus and are moved enough to do so, that is, but it would not be in the same way as a Scorpio does. Their force is in receptivity and reflection; they dissolve borders, old angers, and walls by mere presence. The most contradictory of all the contradictions. Humble yet magnanimous, saintly yet enmeshed, rich yet poor. They are amorphous but being bodily makes them laugh and run wild over the hills. They enjoy this being in a body perhaps more than anyone else, yet also because they do not fight their unconsciousness. They are one with it, they are submerged within it, lost within it, one might even say. They do not fight and they are free.
