The Dangerous Sea

Pisces Sun and Scorpio Moon

This combination I have known intimately and we will leave it at that. It wasn’t at my strongest time that I found myself rolling with a Pisces Sun and Scorpio Moon. Though there’s strength to be found and nurtured in them, the lower octave of this sign thrives in the underworld, for at a young age they long to be where they can emotionally unfurl, implode, and break unconstrained into society. The higher octave would be emotionally fearless and find themselves in a stratum of society where they can be free, unconfined, emotionally extravagant, and deeply purposeful. There should always be a purpose, a defining center with these types, or they can very much shift from suffering to suffering under the leadership of their loosely tethered Pisces Sun. The aim of a Pisces Sun is never completely identifiable; it flows with the seasons in life and different levels of consciousness, as well as doorways far beneath conscious aim. Life is essentially so much vaster than any one consciousness can contemplate, and that mystery is very penetrable with a Pisces Sun whose ego experiences bring about disassociation, pretty much the opposite of all the rest of the zodiac. But the Scorpio Moon strives for grounding and against all odds—permanence. The lower manifestation of the sign of Scorpio must be experienced with the Scorpio Moon—there is no way around it—the Moon is our infantile emotional system grasping for recognition and for continuous nurturing and integration all the life long, and the Scorpio Moon begins life deeply selfish, deeply protective, and very responsive to inherited trauma and all triggers. There eventually emerges gifts for integrating one’s trauma as well as influencing other people towards their own release. There are fervent and obsessive attachments—originating in the family, then with friends, and fanning out eventually to lovers. In each tie these people tax to the very limit, and unlock in others the deepest of responses. They are very vulnerable, but escape artists, capable of shifting between personas to protect their deep hearts or secret motivations that they know cut underneath other people. So they wear different guises depending upon their mood, but are essentially unto themselves. They identify with the most fervent emotions—anger, passion, resentment—what have you—and truly seethe and undulate in the loneliness that comes from always wearing and projecting such emotion. Then such isolation will fray and the person will be desperate to be known, seen, and touched again only to find themselves hopelessly triggered. Sometimes the very triggers seem to blend with the world itself; nature is highly amorphic, full of voices, animated with spirits. They themselves might experience possession of a sort, and even ebb into megalomania followed by deep depression. Being a double water sign the emotional nature is all—the feeling nature overwhelms, topples over and erodes mental stability, security, and even the clear fires of the soul. But eventually, the Scorpio Moon hooks the Pisces Sun into a consciousness of karma, and mortality. Enough losses will eradicate the nervous system, the tender spring of youth, and must be compensated by an awakening of awareness, and an ability to direct the deep powerful intuitive nature towards meaningful being. They can literally become portals for other people, and for substances in general; they are very open to healing touch, clean food, gentle herbs, and the powerful chemical changes in the brain which music produces. They absolutely open doors of consciousness for other people, and trigger transformations in those who become close to them. For a Scorpio Moon, the shadow realm must cyclically be journeyed into, but the Pisces Sun operates like Ceres itself. The sun nearing and bursting the earth’s surface into flower and seed creates metabolic changes in them; they are very affected by the seasons, the moons, the sun’s nearness or faraway-ness. Profound is their access to ecstasy and despair and the power of regeneration. Really, there is no limit to the life force they can fill themselves with; those double water signs have the highest capacity for embodiment of force than anyone on earth for water after all is the deepest and strongest force. It’s just difficult to embody all that in one body. An acknowledgement of personal power and responsibility is essential; once that’s done they are incredible healers and would thrive in any unconventional environment that still values shamanism. The Scorpio Moon is here at a waning three quarters, meaning they are integrating the shadow in this life, they contemplate the left behind residue of others, and are on a journey of integration of that which is beyond their control.
