Scorpio Sun and Capricorn Moon

Oh heaviest of Scorpios, wherefore lives your peace? Scorpio is a sign that does not greatly generate a lot of movement. Scorpio people are profound thinkers and secretive about their plans so they do much and comprehend and achieve things in silence and stillness whereas the rest of the zodiac flutters and strains. Capricorn, however, is the sign of the most relentless, purposeful movement, of sliding the ax down to cut through the sinews of wood and heaving that ax afterwards onto a terse, strained, muscled shoulder. Scorpio relishes in certain movements and exercises but never looks upon it as the retribution of some long forgotten sin, as Capricorn, in his or her darkest moments, is wont to do. Capricorn people will tell themselves it is for a purpose, a gain, or a reason but often it is because of an ache of hurt they can’t stand to sit still with and must rectify somehow on the world-scape. Scorpio is more about the achievements and heights within the body; they sit still with their aches, meditating and brooding on them, even gets crushed by them, until, eventually, wildly exhaling, they dance free. But we are never solely one sign, not a one of us is a pure archetype, except perhaps walking in our dreams. So for the Scorpio Sun-Capricorn Moon, we have a Scorpio who sits and broods but is more troubled by it and less willing to concede. Capricorn, especially as a Moon sign, resists change and transformation. There is a dull darkness to it—the Moon being in its detriment—and feelings are very deep down and hard to probe. They are especially deep and dark with the light of the Sun being in Scorpio. The person does not keep much to the surface. They tend to strive for things they feel are best left unsaid and they are very hard, even completely ruthless with themselves. There is deep loyalty, however, and profound ethics—however, in the Scorpio-Capricorn person I know, these ethics have been continuously breeched. The only way for this beautifully dark, deep person to rise above the negative is for their ethics to hold and be adhered to above all. The person must walk the straight and narrow; it is usually so with the Capricorn Lights. There must be some kind of rigid withholding for the person to bear the goal they have set for themselves, which to give up on would mean death. Capricorn, after all, is the old keeper of death before Pluto was discovered and matched with Scorpio. I still think Capricorn encompasses fear of death while Scorpio stands for the acceptance of death. Together in one person there is great morbid awareness. This Scorpio very much needs and must work through their fears. The Capricorn Moon will be very resisting of this—the Moon rules our habitual responses and conditioning, and we have here, again, deeply fixed conditioning that will be negative and withholding and unwilling to forgive, but the little vulnerable child deep down within memory must be seen and forgiven for the Scorpionic transformation to take place. But it will be hard and rigidly resisted by this guard of a Moon. The person has seen within themselves unspeakable things, even horrors, and experienced what they have seen or felt echoed or mirrored in the world. There is much they have locked away, they are very scared to release. There is a lot of fear worked into the bones of the people who possess Capricorn Moons that needs to be rubbed and worked out of them. Earth signs hold so much in, they are less expressive than their passive counterparts in Water, yet they feel just as deep. Still, their capacity for release is so much less that they do not get to experience the healing power of emotion as deeply as Water, which attracts more connection and catharsis. They experience a life of slow, if not forever put off release, and yet they plod on. Capricorn is the deepest of the Earth signs, and the darkest. Coupled with the keeper of the secrets of the shadow, Scorpio, we have the cloaked person, covered head to toe in a protection so strong and so solid that they themselves do not know how to soften it or experience life without it. There is no stronger pair of shoulders in the whole zodiac. If only these people can break down where their rigidity and resistance is coming from, they might get to experience the full circle of also being held. The internalized pressure of Saturn Returns might be a key, as well as habitual illnesses. The Moon is in a sextile or soft aspect to the Sun here, and is waxing, a sign of promise and ease. However, sometimes ease manifests as conceit—for the person believes themselves so heartily, they rarely take any advice and must always go the hard, long way. It is the life path they have chosen. They are dense with unexpressed sorrow. Like mountains, but breathing, the Scorpio-Capricorn, longing to bend down to the river, only does so in dreams, while remaining high and surveying, at altitudes few of us would ever dare breathe.
